Recovery Navigators (Recovery Coaches or Peers) are going to work with the client to understand the results of the REC-CAP and put together a recovery care plan that will help to address the barriers and unmet service needs. As you have now learned, a recovery care plan is composed of goals, resources, and events.
You have now learned how to import, modify goal templates, and add resources into your directory for use in Recovery Care Plans. Goal templates will help speed up the data entry process and, in some instances, create a road map for your Recovery Navigators and the clients. Depending on how a client responds in their rec-cap assessment, the ARMS system will serve up a list of suggested templates for the Recovery Navigators and the client to review and discuss what goals to create, and whether any of the templates will help to walk them through creating a SMART goal that will address those barriers, unmet needs, and/or to grow recovery strengths to increase Recovery Capital. The goal can and will be modified to meet the specific needs of each individual client as they discuss and agree upon during the recovery planning process which you will learn about in a later training however the templates help with time and efficiency.
Now that you have completed the Measure, Plan & Engage (MPE) preparation step training it is time to begin importing and modifying your goal templates and finding events in your area which you will then add to your public calendar. Once you have completed these action items, your Recovery Navigators and clients can begin to create Recovery Care Plans and engage in the process of growing recovery capital.
